孙增二(大犬座λ)是大犬座中一颗蓝白色调的单独恒星[10]。孙增二的视星等是+4.48,在无光害的场所可以用裸眼看见[2]。根据从地球观察到的恒星视差7.70mas [1],它与太阳的距离为424光年。由于星际尘埃的消光,在这样的距离上它的视亮度会降低0.14等[5]。
这是一颗恒星光谱为B4V的B型主序星[3]。估计它的年龄是4,000万年[6],恒星的投影旋转速度为102公里/秒[3]。它的质量是5.7太阳质量[6],亮度是太阳亮度的560倍[8],表面的有效温度为16,300K[3]。
