tell me this, brothers. when you talk about black people (hakwais or siaogais or guaylos or whatever they are called these days) are you talking just about the people from africa? what about people from new guinea? what about the homies down in india?

also this, what are your opinons of black people? good? bad? have you ever met one?

Not sure if you are really black. I am from China and since there are not a lot of black people in my country(actually not a lot of any people other than Chinese), most Chinese people can't tell(and don't care) if they are from Africa, America or Europe. They just call them Heiren(In my native Shanghainese dialect it is pronounced Hehnin), which means black people. Sometimes they use Heigui(or hakwais as you spell), which is a quite racist word now, because for some reason it is the Chinese translation of "Nigger". Fortunately we don't use that in Shanghai.

I really doubt if there are more than 1% Chinese people know where new guinea is. So we don't have any word for people from there(Is there one in English?). For indian people, there is no special word for them in Mandarin(Dumb Beijingers!). But in Shanghai we call them A-Seh(a little racist now also), and I think there are some words in Cantonese also.

BTW, I think guaylos is just for honkies and it is only used in Cantonese.

For most Chinese people, they don't have much knowledge about black people(again, not about any other races either). Just try to imagine how you will talk and think about aliens in SF movies. If you were black, you might get angry about how people talk about your race in front of your face. The good news is, they do the same thing to white people too! What do they THINK about black people? That's a very simple question, they think they are BLACK!

There is a black guy in my work place. But I never had a chance to talk to him. Most people there are Indian(Because I am an IT engineer, haha!!).
