安妮·莱尔

《安妮·莱尔》（英語：Annie Lisle）是一首由美國马萨诸塞州波士顿作曲家亨利·S·汤普森于1857年創作的民谣，此旋律随后被世界上许多中学及大学選为校歌。

校歌

1906年出版的《远在卡尤嘉湖之上》歌谱

最早使用这一旋律作为校歌的是康奈尔大学。1870年，两位学生阿奇博尔德·威克斯和威尔莫特·史密斯利用《安妮·莱尔》的旋律创作了《远在卡尤加湖之上》（Far Above Cayuga's Waters）并成为了康奈尔大学的校歌。受康奈尔大学影响，其他的一些学校亦采用这一旋律作为校歌，至今统计有127所以上的学校采用这一旋律。

同样采用这一旋律作为校歌的美国学校有密西根州立大學、密苏里大学、印第安纳大学、北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校、威廉玛丽学院、科罗拉多州立大学等。

亞洲地區亦有一些学校采用该旋律作为校歌，例如燕京大学、齐鲁大学、东吴大学、金陵大学、大夏大学、岭南大学、香港中文大学崇基学院、中华基督教会燕京书院、金陵中学、新加坡華僑中學、鍾靈獨立中學等。

原作

亨利·S·汤普森原作的内容为一位去世的少女，虽然歌词中未直接提到死因，但推测这位少女死于肺结核。
